What :

Chamoli - full of dramatic vistas, towering mountains, and fields of flowers - might be the most stunning region known as "The Land of God."

This charming district in the Northern Indian state of Uttarakahand (Uttaranchal) is an important point on the Hindu Char Dam pilgrimage circuit with four main destinations. Hindu pilgrims have been walking hundreds of miles to visit Badrinath Temple since the 9th century. The Gangotri Temple marks the source of the holy Ganges River. Kedarnath Temple is dedicated to the Hindu deity Lord Shiva, and the structure in the Himalaya Mountains is one of the 12 Jyotirlinga Shrines that protect the physical manifestation of Lord Shiva’s cosmic power on earth. Yamunotri Temple is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Yamuna, who is considered the source of the sacred Yamuna River, which flows into the Ganges River further south.

The Valley of Flowers National Park is located in the region, and sprawling meadows of alpine flowers are home to a number of endangered species such as the Asiatic black bear, snow leopard, red fox, and blue sheep. Ringed by the rugged Himalaya Mountains, the valley is a remote and stunning excursion while experiencing Chamoli on one of our luxury tours of India.

When :

Rains in July and September cause the Valley of Flowers National Park to bloom with stunning flowers after the warm temperatures between April and June when the Hindu pilgrimage of Char Dam is in full swing. October to March is often chilly and there is the potential for snowfall.

Where :

Chamoli is a provincial district in the Northern Indian state of Uttarakahand. While exploring the region, our guests are best served by using the city of Rishikesh as a base to explore the stunning natural beauty and mysterious religious importance that pervades Chamoli via our private vehicle service.

Who :

Hindu devotees have been making the beautiful pilgrimage to this region since time immemorial. The pilgrims have left palpable feelings of religious reverence along the trails that mix with the stunning natural beauty of the region to create a one-of-a-kind experience for guests traveling on tours of India with us.

Appropriate Attire :

Western-wear is fine in town, but most Hindu temples require shoulders, arms, and knees to be covered while on holy ground. Some areas may also ask visitors to remove their shoes before entry.

It was a dream come true! I really enjoyed the tour, the people I met, the incredible things I saw and the wonderful well mannered and caring people from India. I have traveled extensively, I consider myself a real gobble trotter, I have participated in a lot of tour company groups but nothing like Easy Tours of India!
I arrived sick, really sick, the medications I brought with me didn't work, I called two doctors at two different hotels, they sure made the difference! They changed my antibiotics, gave me 5 more medications including an anti-allergic one and made me feel better enough, that with some effort on my part, I was able to enjoy and finish the tour.
Ali our guide was sure a gentleman... WOW! he has so much patience he could be a teacher! the gentleman driver was so pleasant and caring, especially when he noticed I was feeling so bad.
I am already planning to go back to visit South India and this time I do not plan to be sick at all.
I love India!
Specially the hotel in MUMBAI, they were the best, they took care of me really well, gave me an upgrade of a beautiful room, let me check out at 8pm and gave me free internet access. They were so and so sweet caring and nice I felt my heart broken when I said goodbye...
Chandni always called concerned about my health, thanks CHANDNI!
