Trivandrum is a bustling metropolis located in the state of Kerala. It is, by far, the largest city in Kerala with nearly 1 million inhabitants! It is a city built on seven hills near on the western shore of India. It is the capital of Kerala so visitors here will be able to see many of the local government buildings. Mahatma Ghandi once referred to Trivandrum as the “Evergreen City of India” for its temperate climate. The best time to visit Trivandrum is between October and February, the perfect time for beach vacations. February to May is summer, which is very hot and humid while June to September is the monsoon season. The second rainy season, the North-East monsoon, is equally strong and occurs during the months of October and November.
Every year Trivandrum offers cultural celebrations during its festival of Onam. There are many fun activities and several of the city centers really come alive during this festival. Onam is a 10 day festival and experience enjoyed by all.
