Depart from origin
Since independence, India has been at the forefront of recognizing the importance of conservation of the country ’s endangered and threatened species and their habitats. Notwithstanding a few setbacks, it has set an example for the rest of the world in the proactive measures it has taken, with some wonderful success stories to its credit as a result of these policies.
Although the battle is far from won, this has been our inspiration for the design of this tour, to enable the wildlife enthusiast the opportunity to view many of the planet’s rarest animals in their natural habitats. Each destination has been carefully selected on the basis of providing you with the very best chance, (sometimes the only chance) of sighting these magnificent creatures as nature intended.
Of course the Royal Bengal Tiger garners the most publicity, but in addition you will also be afforded the opportunity to see the Asiatic Lion, Leopard, Great Indian One Horned Rhinoceros, Asiatic Wild Buffalo, Asiatic Elephant, Smooth Coated Otter, Marsh Crocodile, Barasingha (Swamp Deer), and Hoolock Gibbon, to name but a few, as well as many more less threatened fauna, and a plethora of both migratory and resident bird species.
We have put together an itinerary that we think is the minimum time you should allow in each destination, to optimize what it has to offer. Extra days in any or all of these National Parks can be added at your request, according to your preferences.
We hope to see you on Safari!

The main carnivores of the park are the Asiatic Lion, Leopard, Jungle Cat, Hyena, Jackal, Mongoose, Civet Cat, and Ratel. Desert Cats and Rusty Spotted Cats are very rare. The main herbivores of the Gir are Chital, Nilgai, Sambar, Chowsingha, Chinkara and Wild Boar. In the adjoining forest there is a small population of Blackbuck. Among the smaller mammals, Porcupine and Hare are common but the Pangolin is rare. The reptilian fauna is represented by Crocodile, the Star Tortoise, the Monitor Lizard and a number of species of snakes. Python are also found sometimes along the stream banks.

The terrain is rocky, with hills rising sharply from the swamps and surrounding densely forested valley. The most imposing of these hills is Bandhavgarh, which is bounded by great cliffs of massive rock. The 2000 year old Fort stands on the top of this hill. There is a temple at the fort that can be accessed only on foot and with prior notice to the authorities; however this permission can be hard to get.
