The 40th India Tourism and Industrial fair was held in Chennai this year. The India Tourism and Industrial Fair is the preeminent event for the country’s tourism and other industrial segments to showcase their latest offerings to a large audience of domestic and foreign customers.
The 40th India Tourism and Industrial Fair was held at the iconic Island Fair Grounds near the city center of Chennai, which facilitated greater public access to the venue. The Tamil Nadu State Government and the Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation worked assiduously to ensure all facilities for participants and visitors at the fair grounds were up and running.
The 70 day event concluded on March 20, 2014. The Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation, one of the main sponsors of the event this year, claimed that over 11 million people attended the event this year.
Over 47 state government departments and tourism development corporations participated in the event.
The best stallsand pavilions at the fair ground were given awards across a plethora of categories. Since Tamil Nadu state was hosting this year’s fair, the awards were given out by Mr. R. Kannan, Additional Secretary of Tourism, Culture and Religious Endowments.
